Rev. Dr. Dan Lamey, Founding Pastor
Pastor Dan did his undergraduate work at Florida Bible College, graduating as Valedictorian of his class. He completed his Master of Divinity and Doctoral Degrees at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and was named the Andrew Patterson Memorial Fellow in Biblical Theology.
For the past 15 years, Dan has also worked with wedding planners from the area’s finest resorts including South Seas Island Resort, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort, Naples Beach Club, Ritz Carlton, LaPlaya Beach Resort, and many others both on the East and West coasts of southern Florida. His exceptional wedding ministry has blessed the lives of couples from all over the United States and beyond. He gets so many referrals from happy couples that he doesn’t have to advertise!
Dan loves to act and sing and has performed many roles in regional theater in Indiana and Florida. The highlight was playing the lead role of Don Quixote in “Man of La Mancha”. He played the lead role in Sugden Community Theater’s production of the soul-stirring drama “Doubt” as Father Flynn.
Dan has also performed in several TheatreZone’s musical productions including Sheriff Vallon in “Showboat, a sinister lawyer Zinnowitz in “Grand Hotel”, Toby in “110 in the Shade” and Gregor in “Chess”.
Dan and his wife Lee have raised a “yours, mine and ours” group of 6 daughters …and can confirm that “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”! He has many stories to relate about the girls as they were growing up!
They have been blessed with 5 beloved grandchildren!
We cherish Pastor Dan, with all the talents he brings to Jubilee. His sermons are excellent and his ability to create a community is second to none. He loves all of us! We certainly look forward to our Sunday mornings!
Rev. Frank Blocker, Assistant Pastor
We are so grateful that Pastor Dan met Frank when they were both cast in the production of “Amadeus” at TheatreZone, here in Naples, in 2017. They had lots of wonderful, philosophical and theological conversation because of the nature of the story. This led to an invitation to speak with our Bible Study group about the spiritual aspects of the show. This led Frank to fall in love with who we are as a community and we embraced him with all his skills and abilities. He joined us as part of our Worship Team on Sunday mornings, and Pastor Dan reports that working with him on a weekly basis brought them both to a place where they were considering Frank’s call to ministry.
Raised as the youngest of 10 kids in a Catholic family amongst Pentecostal and Baptist relatives in the Midwest, he celebrates his faith with anyone who seeks relationship with God. Frank was originally ordained in 1995 in Atlanta, serving as a speaker and performer for special services in churches there. He renewed that ordination after he joined our staff in 2017 and was later named Assistant Pastor.
Frank was awarded a college scholarship, ending up with 2 degrees in Theater and Speech Communications. He also studied Information Technology. As a professional actor he worked in Atlanta and New York City, and has been recognized for his skills and writing ability. He received an Obie award, which is presented by the American Theatre Wing and the Village Voice for his work on a significant off-Broadway project. In Naples, he has performed in 5 musical productions at TheatreZone, including the fictional composer Antonio Salieri in “Amadeus”.
Frank is also Film and Theater Director at Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs. The active Center offers a variety of entertainment for all ages – musical, theatrical, dance and comedic. He manages the Production and IT schedule, sometimes directs shows and teaches writing. He hosts weekly films, 10 minutes plays, staged readings, and hosts a yearly Film Festival.
An avid gardener, he bought a home with a double lot in 2015 in Naples and has expanded the garden significantly. His cottage garden has a wide variety of plants, fruit trees and 3 water features; something is blooming all year long. A tour for a garden lover can take an hour!
We are overjoyed to have Frank with us; we love his meaningful and often entertaining sermons, his quick wit and endearing manner!
Chuck Jobes, Music
Chuck Jobes, a master of the keyboard and talented vocalist, has been an extensive background in the music industry. He met Dan when they were hired to entertain at a private party in Naples in 2005. It was “Broadway Meets the Rainbow Room”, featuring hit songs from famous musicals. He knew immediately that he would work with Dan one day. They made it happen by keeping in touch until Jubilee Fellowship was created.
Chuck has a substantial list of accomplishments during his long and storied professional career. He was classically trained from 6 years old then, studied at Chicago Musical College when the local rock band he was in, The New Colony Six, had their first #1 record in the United States.
The New Colony Six is credited with having opened the doors for future Chicago groups and have the distinct honor of having had 18 local single releases from 1964 to the 1970s. He also played with a smart supper club quartet around Chicago, culminating in a month at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas in 1974. Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley were there at that time.
Chuck joined his family in Naples in 1977 and worked steadily from then on. His highlight was opening the Ritz Carlton’s Grill Room in 1985 and segueing into the elegant Lobby Bar at the new Registry (Naples Grand). After a season at the Old Marco Inn, he entertained at the new Bayside Seafood Grille and Bar from 1990 to 2009. Other venues include Chef’s Garden/Truffles, Pippins, Edgewater Beach Hotel, Port of the Islands, Stoney’s, Old Naples Pub, Shula’s, and many more!
Chuck is a wonderful entertainer, with a quick wit (like Frank) and big smile for everyone! We are incredibly blessed to have such a gifted partner in our music ministry. Chuck is loved by all!
